We offer a lot here at Motion, but one of our key utilities is the 3D modelling and mapping capabilities. With a short but sweet visit to site, we can be back at the office uploading the images ready to further your project more than ever before. With our modelling software, a few hundred images and some magic, allows us to turn some photos into an explorable piece of gold. You’re able to explore the site from the comfort of wherever you’re currently sitting.

software applications

software applications

The fun doesn’t stop there either. While spinning the model around and looking at how much progress has been made since the last visit is fun and all, the real beauty of the kit and software is the applications and outputs within. From the browser alone, you’re able to measure accurately in 2D and 3D. Do you need a 1cm accurate volumetric survey of the piles on site? We’ve got you covered. Do you need the elevations of all surrounding buildings around your site? Yeah, no problem.

The true data comes when you export though. The 3D model and 2D map allow portable and effective information, but the outputs alone spread across the horizon. We won’t stand here telling you every single output, but do topographical surveys, AutoCAD models, or Scan-to BIM take your fancy?

scale

Size doesn’t matter for us either, we’re able to capture the smallest of properties, to an entire development block, or expansive land areas. The sky is the limit (literally!) It truly can’t be put into words how cost and time efficient using a drone is, especially in regard to 3D modelling and consequent outputs. Our pilots can usually capture around 70 acres in 20 minutes, if a number helps you picture how efficiently we work.

point clouds

point clouds

You didn’t think the capabilities ended there, right? Our point clouds offer accurate data. Even without using it in CAD it allows detail that 3D models and Matterport scans can’t capture alone (in their browser formats, at least.) As we’ve talked about with the likes of volumetrics and surveys, accuracy is mandatory.

While it’s become a buzzword for Motion’s offerings, the instantaneous use of them in CAD also allows project downtime to be significantly lower than normal ground surveys. This of course applies to drones too, but the Matterport’s internal speed isn’t able to be matched by a survey team. And then a Matterpak only takes 24 hours to process at the maximum, allowing next day delivery. AutoCAD Recap also allows the collaboration we love to offer. With markups and comments being applied and sharable between people on the project.
